Winter 07 & AppExchange Update
by Adam Gross on December 9, 2006 at 09:49 AM
While we are still about 10 days away from the official start of winter, the transition to the new Winter 07 release here at salesforce.com has already begun. As of this morning customers of Sandbox will find that their test orgs have been upgraded are fully Winter 07 enabled. If you have a salesforce.com account, you should have received and email letting you know exactly when your org will be upgraded - we are currently planning to upgrade all orgs by mid January.
As part of this rolling release process, and to allow for additional enhancements and upgrades, we are going to briefly disable the ability to upload new packages to the AppExchange. While you can continue to developer apps, and install existing packages from the AppExchange, between 1/5 and 1/15 this upload feature will not be available.
As those of you who attended Dreamforce know, Winter 07 is a pretty amazing release, and includes some of the most requested features, like API relationships, as well as entirely new capabilities, including Apex Code. If you haven't taken a look yet at what's coming, you and find an overview from Dreamforce here - and as always let us know if you have any questions.
